Adding Value to Your Clients Through Customer Care

Customer care support refers to "a range of customer services to assist customers in making cost effective and correct use of a product. It includes assistance in planning, installation, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrading, and disposal of a product."

In short, it's making your customers feel valued during the purchase and transaction process. It's essential to make your customers feel appreciated otherwise, they wouldn't refer you to their peers, and they wouldn't purchase from you anymore.

If you want to have a successful online business look into these three things to make your customer support better than any of your competition.

  1. Live Chat with a Customer Service Representative

Having a chatbot to answer your clients about general queries is one thing, but how about when they start asking questions that are too complicated for the chatbot answer? That's when live chat with a customer service representative (CSR) comes in.

It's understandable not to have a 24-hour CSR to reply to messages if your business isn't doing overseas transactions, but it would be nice to have one on hand during business hours. Having a customer care support system manning your live chat feature will make your business feel more organic, it gives people the semblance of troubleshooting a problem in person.
  2. Outsource your CSR efforts

Suppose your local business evolved into an international one, you will start needing people to handle your customer service all hours of the day. It's much too expensive to pay people to be on standby in the office until the ungodly hours of the morning, so your best option now is to outsource!

There are plenty of call centers/BPO agencies to choose from, and they usually come cheaper if you source them from abroad. Both clients from the northern and southern hemisphere will be satisfied and happy with the replies they get.
  3. E-mails, e-mails, and more e-mails

Truth be told, not everyone has the time to call a customer service representative and tell them about their problems regarding the product or service that they purchased. Most people just send the company an email and get on with their day in hopes that their queries are replied to when they get home. Companies should be equally invested in their customer support email because the vast majority of questions are directed to their inbox.

In the end, the customer is always right (even if they really aren't). And if you want your business to be profitable, you have to value your customers even if it means giving in to their 45-minute conversations with the CSR to make a sale. Don’t worry; with the right support team and practices, that should be easy to handle.
